The Chakras and The Aura
The Aura and Chakras are both independent subjects, but due to the interaction between them, it would be more beneficial to merge these subjects for the purposes of passing on information.
The Chakras, or energy centres, create an energy field around the body. This energy field is called the Aura. The Aura is described as layers of thermal energies located from the skin outwards into the atmosphere up to one metre wide. The Chakras influence how the Aura is constructed because of the different energies sent into the Aura.
The Chakras and the Aura separately require a great deal of study. Because of the amount of study involved in this subject it is the aim of this workshop to give a brief outline and to introduce the basic elements involved, this will make it easier for you to assimilate the information.
Each Chakra has its own colour; element; musical note; sense; mantra; gemstone; preferred food; gland and organ.
The history of Auras goes way back to the first person that saw the glow around other people. More familiar examples are Christian mystics who described the Aura as a halo or spiritual radiance. Today, modern researchers measure the Aura as an electro-magnetic field that surrounds all living creatures.
The Chakras
Chakras are also called energy centres or psychic centres which indicate that they are a living force. Chakra is the ancient Sanskrit word meaning wheel.
THE FIRST CHAKRA is known as the Root or Base Chakra. It is located at the base of the spine and is associated with the colour RED. This Chakra is the life force as it channels energy to the physical body. It relates to instincts, self-preservation and survival as we know it.
THE SECOND CHAKRA is known as the Sacral or Navel Chakra. It is located in the region of the abdomen near the navel area and associated with the colour ORANGE. It related to physical energy and vitality, emotions and harmony.
THE THIRD CHAKRA is known as the Solar Plexus Chakra. It is located in the region of the solar plexus and is associated with the colour YELLOW. It relates to emotional issues, transformation and soul awakening.
THE FOURTH CHAKRA is known as the Heart Chakra. It is located in the centre of the chest and is associated with the colour GREEN. It relates to unconditional love, compassion, understanding, harmony and the life force from the higher self.
THE FIFTH CHAKRA is known as the Throat Chakra. It is located in the region of the throat and is associated with the colour BLUE. It relates to sound and creative communication concerning the written and spoken word.
THE SIXTH CHAKRA is known as the Psychic Eye or Brow Chakra. It is located just between the eyebrows and just above the bridge of the nose and is associated with the colour INDIGO. It relates to thought, soul realisation, visualisation, insight and intuition.
THE SEVENTH CHAKRA is known as the Crown Chakra. It is located on the top of the head and is associated with the colour VIOLET. This chakra relates to the unification of the higher self with the human personality, including divine wisdom and understanding, inspiration and super consciousness.
The Aura
The human aura is a subject of great interest and has been described as a shimmering kaleidoscope of interchanging colours. Every living thing has it’s counterpart in astral substance, the physical being the densest and the astral being of a more subtle and finer substance.
The aura is a blueprint of our history, health, moods, characteristics and emotions. Different levels of consciousness appear as colours that are ever-moving, ever-changing and intermingling with each other. The healthy well-balanced Aura will show clear, bright colours whereas the emotionally disturbed or unhealthy person will have dull and murky colours.
The Aura is made up of the seven basic colours, the darkest being near the physical self and the lighter, finer colours being nearer the cosmic intelligence. The Aura contains all our thoughts, feelings, emotions and history. Just as it gives off information, it is able to collect information too. The Aura acts as a thermal barrier to its physical counterpart and if through shock or a certain state of being, becomes weakened, the body can then become out of balance and ill.
The Aura is often described as an energy field. The Earth has a magnetic field around it with a North and South polarity. The human body, too, has a magnetic field. This energy field, the Aura, is forever moving and changing according to our health, moods, and vitality. The shape and size of the Aura depends upon the particular person. On the average person the Aura has an appearance somewhat oval in shape.
Within the seven colours of the Aura are different levels of consciousness and within these levels our life patterns are registered in the form of energy. The Aura is an extension of ourselves and, therefore, no two Auras can be the same.
THE FIRST LAYER is the Physical Layer. This is the basic magnetic field around the physical body.
THE SECOND LAYER is the Etheric Layer. Any disharmony, pain or turbulence can be seen or felt in this layer. This is the layer most commonly used when giving Spiritual Healing.
THE THIRD LAYER is the Vital Layer which will react to dramatic changes in thought patterns in the Etheric and Emotional layers.
THE FOURTH LAYER is the Emotional Layer. This area will often show confusion as thought patterns are forever changing according to mental attitude. Negative and positive vibrations are normally shown in this layer.
THE FIFTH LAYER is the Lower Mental Layer and shows the development and growth that has taken place.
THE SIXTH LAYER is the Higher Mental Layer relating to the soul. This part of the Aura shows the nearness to God, the desire to follow and understand the belief within. It is part of the Universal Consciousness.
THE SEVENTH LAYER is the Spiritual Layer composed of pure light, the spirit self. This layer is not often seen by the human eye as it is pure light. However, Kirlian photography gives more detail. It is of a fine energy and close to the cosmic consciousness. |
